Tigo Digital Change-Makers is one of our flagship CSR activities. Together with our partner international NGO, Reach for Change, we launched this programme in 2011 to find social entrepreneurs with innovative ideas that address challenges to children’s wellbeing in deprived communities.
With a prize of seed capital of $ 20,000 annually for 3 years and expert support and guidance, we encouraged Ghanaians to step forward with their pioneering ideas. Since the initial launch there have been 13 Digital Change-Maker winners out of thousands of aspiring applicants.
Winners from the 2014 Digital Change-Makers are Alice Mamaga Akosua Amoako & Solomon Avemegah; both final year students of the Ghana Telecom University for developing an app that supports children suffering from Autism.
Sheila Osei-Boakye is also a 2014 winner for her digitized training programmes for teachers in basic schools. They join the prestigious club of 13 other Digital Change-Makers who are making an impact across the length and breadth of Ghana.
